Extended Biography
Based in Wellington, New Zealand, I have travelled the world with my unique musical abilities. Having played alongside musical icons such as Dave Dobbyn and Warren Maxwell, I’m an accomplished musician with extensive knowledge in a wide range of genres. From Bubblegum Pop to Hard Rock, Brass Bands to Free Jazz, I can tackle any musical venture and may be the perfect fit for your next project.
My classical training and orchestral knowledge has given me opportunities to travel on tour to the USA, Tonga, Japan, Australia and all over NZ with multiple brass bands and orchestral groups as well as playing with internationally recognised award-winning group Wellington Brass at 2019’s NZ Brass Band Nationals, of which took away a clean sweep of all awards in the competition.
Some of my recorded samples have reached international audiences being featured on Swedish synthesiser company Elektron’s website for download. At a local level, I have been involved in projects such as community plays, Wellington’s Cuba Dupa and playing with Wellington Airport’s 2019 Arts Group of the Year winner Hutt City Brass who are also the Wellington Brass Band Regional Champions for 2019. As evidenced, I am an experienced competent musician and performer that you can trust to bring a high standard of work to your project with a vast knowledge of music spanning multiple genres and niches.
I also have a wide range of skills that could be of use to you and your upcoming events. My event management career started whilst in high school, organising gigs and events for my high school band. I saw the need for inspired and unique events and so strived to make each event I’m a part of the best it can be and I carry that mentality with me still today. If you need help with on the ground people management, my experience as a stage manager and logistics co-ordinator may be the thing you need. Want to organise musicians, but don’t even know where to begin? Having worked under the title of ‘Creative Director’ I can not only help you co-ordinate the musicians you want, but work alongside the technical support at your event to make sure it doesn’t just run smoothly, but has a seamless feel with coherent aesthetics.
